BIO:

Michael Jacques is an American painter based in Miami whose work explores the tension and harmony between the inner world and the natural landscape. Self-taught and driven by a multidisciplinary background spanning design, creative strategy, and experiential art, Jacques approaches painting as a way to map the emotional architecture that sits beneath everyday life.

His mixed-media practice blends figurative forms, abstract environments, and symbolic motifs from nature, creating compositions that feel both intimate and expansive. Jacques’ work often integrates collage, layered texture, and bold yet restrained color, resulting in pieces that read like snapshots of the subconscious moments where human interiority meets the wider environment.

Jacques has begun building a growing collector base in the U.S., exhibiting in local shows and private placements while preparing new series for gallery and art-fair submission. His paintings resonate with viewers drawn to introspection, symbolism, and contemporary surrealism.

ARTIST STATEMENT:

My work explores the meeting point between inner experience and the natural world where emotion, memory, and environment blur into a single visual language. I build each piece from a feeling first, merging figurative forms with organic elements to reveal the internal landscapes we usually hide. These paintings aren’t meant to explain anything; they’re meant to slow the viewer down, to create a moment where intuition leads and meaning surfaces on its own. By blending human interiors with the exterior world, I aim to show how our inner states continually shape the reality we see.
